What plumbing is needed for a dishwasher?
Four things are necessary for a built-in dishwasher: a place for it; a water supply line; a drain line; and power.
What plumbing is needed for a washing machine?
A washing machine needs hot and cold water and a drain. You’ll need to install washing machine valves, which look like outdoor hose bibs but point straight down. The washer drain hose hooks to a standpipe or a sink, which has a P-trap that connects to a house drain line.
What plumbing is needed for a hot tub?
Many people are surprised to learn that no plumbing is required in order to install a Jacuzzi® Hot Tub. Simply fill your spa with a garden hose and balance the water as necessary.
Why does plumbing need to be vented?
Vent pipes supply fresh air to each plumbing fixture in the house, which helps the system move water through the drainage pipes each time a toilet is flushed or a sink is drained. Plumbing air vents also prevent sewer gases from entering the home and allow wastewater gas and odor to escape.
Can plumbing and electrical be in the same wall?
Plumbing and electrical in the same wall cavity are fine, even if they do touch. Remember, all electrical is insulated. Bare ground wires are OK too.
Can plumbing solder go bad?
No, it can’t go bad. A properly done solder joint will last the lifetime of the piping. Sometimes you get a cold solder joint in which the two pieces of the joint do not bond(usually caused by bad preparation) but it seems to seal for a while then starts leaking. If it looks clean it is good.
We have experience handling both residential plumbing as well commercial plumbing jobs.
